Teach A Man To Fish (TAMTF) helps kids from poor families across Africa, Asia and South America to get the quality education they deserve.
The organisation works with rural schools to create new sources of income, so that the poorest children can attend for free.
Because all the students get ‘hands-on’ involvement and learn how to make money out of the activity, they go home with valuable skills they can share with their families. When parents see that sending their children to work pays, they make sure they go – every day!
Teach A Man To Fish currently supports 13 school-based projects across the globe, reaching over 3,000 young people. Activities range from snail farming in Ghana to Mango Nurseries in Kenya and floriculture in Nepal.
The projects work like small businesses, so that each year the school will earn itself slightly more money to spend on improving facilities and getting children from poorer families into school.
Because each pound is not spent but ‘invested’ in the project it means the money goes further, helping children year after year.
