The 2011 Crisis Carol Service will take place in the spectacular surroundings of Southwark Cathedral on Saturday 10 December, 6.30pm. The stall will sell food at prices that reflect the high cost in food insecure nations. In many food insecure countries people spend up to 80% of their income feeding their family. Movember challenges men to change their appearance and the face of men’s health by growing a moustache. The rules are simple, start Movember 1st clean shaven and then grow a moustache for the entire month. The moustache becomes the ribbon for men’s health, the means by which awareness and funds are raised for cancers that affect men. The funds raised through Movember’s UK campaign benefit The Prostate Cancer Charity (TPCC), the UK’s leading prostate cancer charity. Kiva present Go Game for Good - a high-tech interactive treasure hunt played on mobile phones, complete with digital cameras, secret missions, and actors. London’s Alright’, the annual charity gig, will invade London’s Roadhouse in Covent Garden once again for a night of outstanding music. The gig, in aid of the Kajiado Children’s Home in Kenya is to raise awareness and money towards the Manna Community Project and will be used to develop a much needed healthcare centre in the region. All works of art created in this workshop will be framed and then exhibited at the Saatchi Gallery for the Maggie & Rose Art for Starlight event on 26 September when the paintings will be sold to raise money for the Starlight Children's Foundation. Dance for Life 2009 brings together schools, youth and dance groups in local communities throughout the south-east by making dance accessible to all young people aged 18 and under, regardless of their ability. This fun charity event is a celebration of youth dance. It opens up dance as a medium to overcome cultural, social and physical barriers, giving pupils the chance to perform and celebrate with their friends, family and school. Teenage Cancer Trust’s concerts have fast become one of the most eagerly anticipated events in the annual British music calendar. Now into their ninth year, the concerts, which were the brainchild of Teenage Cancer Trust Patron and The Who frontman Roger Daltrey CBE, have featured some of the world’s biggest bands treading the boards at London’s world famous Royal Albert Hall. The Royal Albert Hall plays host to a benefit performance of Cirque du Soleil's Quidam to raise funds for Oxfam's work with young people in Bangladesh. In Bangladesh, approximately 3.5 to 5.5 million people are known as "Untouchables". People within "untouchable" communities are deprived of basic rights, including education and health services. At the age at which they should attend the school and play, children are usually undertaking laborious work with their parents. Street Child Africa is the only UK charity entirely devoted to helping street children across Africa.
