Boiling Point
Every year the Mental Health Foundation campaigns for different topics which affect people’s mental health known as Mental Health Action Week. For this year’s Mental Health Action Week they are encouraging people to understand anger and how it affects their mental health and daily life.
Anger is one of the most basic human emotions. It is one of our most powerful and vital tools. It is necessary to our survival as individuals and in communities. But it can do harm to individual health and wellbeing and it can occasionally contribute to violence and tragedy.
Anyone who may be having problems coping with anger, or is worried about their own or their loved one’s anger will be able to find practical advice in the new materials and website.
During the month of March web users will have the opportunity to interact with others in the country through an online rant, the anger-o-meter and through their facebook application. Please visit www.mentalhealth.org.uk/anger to take part.
The Mental Health Foundation also want to invite members of the public to come down to their information stand on the 25th March situated between Gabriel’s Wharf and the Royal National Theatre, between the hours of 10am and 5pm. People will have the opportunity to speak to staff regarding mental health, anger and they’ll have the opportunity to vent their anger and frustrations with a high striker!
One Big Laugh
Laughter is a great antidote to anger so why not buy tickets for One Big Laugh at the Bloomsbury Theatre on 26 March, featuring the host of Never Mind The Buzzcocks, Simon Amstell, Perrier Award winning Rich Hall, Brendon Burns, Hardeep Singh Kohli and other special guests. Tickets cost £20.
